Other wives

Narrated 'Urwa from 'Aisha:

D wives of Allah's Apostle were in 2groups.1group consisted of 'Aisha, Hafsa, Safiyya and Sauda;n d other group consisted of Um Salama n d other wives of Allah's Apostle.D Muslims knew dat Allah's Apostle loved Aisha, so if any of dem had a gift n wished 2 give to Allah's Apostle,he would delay it,till Allah's Apostle had come to Aisha's home n den he would send his gift to Allah's Apostle in her home.D group of Um Salama discussed D matter together n decided dat Um Salama should request Allah's Apostle 2 tell d people 2 send their gifts 2 him in whatever wife's house he was.Um Salama told Allah's Apostle of what dey had said,but he did not reply.Den dey(those wives) asked Um Salama about it.She said,"He did not say anything to me."They asked her to talk to him again.She talked 2him again when she met him on her day,but he gave no reply. When they asked her,she replied that he had given no reply.Dey said 2 her,"Talk to him till he gives you a reply."Whn it was her turn,she talked 2 him again.He den said 2her,"Do not hurt me regarding Aisha,as d Divine Inspirations do not come 2me on any of the beds except that of Aisha."On that Um Salama said,"I repent to Allah for hurting you."Den d group of Um Salama called Fatima,D daughter of Allah's Apostle n sent her 2 Allah's Apostle 2 say 2 him,"Ur wives request to treat them n d daughter of Abu Bakr on equal terms."Den Fatima conveyed D message to him.D Prophet said, "O my daughter!Don't you love whom I love?"She replied in the affirmative and returned and told them of the situation.dey requested her 2go 2 him again but she refused.Dey then sent Zainab bint Jahsh who went to him n used harsh words saying,Ur wives request u 2 treat dem n D daughter of Ibn Abu Quhafa on equal terms."On dat she raised her voice n abused 'Aisha to her face so much so dat Allah's Apostle looked at 'Aisha to c whether she wd retort.''Aisha started replying to Zainab till she silenced her.D Prophet den looked at 'Aisha and sd "She is really the daughter of Abu bakr
